Highlights: We have had a really good week in Class 5 and the children have worked really hard. We have been working on our formal methods for multiplication in Maths and have been using these to solve some quite tricky problems.   We have also started our new geography unit all about earthquakes and have learnt how these are caused and whereabouts the are likely to occur in the world.   Finally, we have also had the school nurse come to visit to talk to us about growing up.  I would just like to congratulate the children for being very grown-up and asking lots of sensible questions on quite a sensitive topic.

What’s happening next week:  Next week is a very busy week in Class 5! Remember it is the Championing Maths Morning where parents are invited to walk the school and see Maths in action. Also on Thursday there is a coffee morning where all adults are invited please just come and turn up at 9.00am!

Spellings: The spellings next week are listed below. They are the words from the statutory words list.

Class Focus:  KINDNESS! We are having a real focus on being kind to one another and to our community. Children have to display on act of kindness in school that they can talk about during RP circle time on Weds morning. That gives them two school days to do it!

Homework: Children have a maths sheet to complete for Tuesday focusing on Long multiplication.
