Highlights: It has been an industrious week in Class 5 this week with the children working hard in all areas of the curriculum. In English, we have been working hard to finish our persuasive leaflets about Brandesburton which are very good read! In Geography, we have been using atlases and world maps to locate the 10 deadliest Earthquakes to happen on Earth, whilst learning why they are more likely to happen in certain areas around the world. Finally, in Science we were understanding how shadows are formed before conducting an experiment to see how and why shadow lengths change – the children really impressed me this lesson with their knowledge.
What’s happening next week: Next week is a normal week in Class 5, however, just a reminder, it is non-uniform next Friday. Also again on Thursday, there is a coffee morning where all adults are invited – please just come and turn up at 9.00am!
Spellings: The spellings next week are all about consolidating words from this half term. We will focus on 20 of the tougher ones and the spellings will be given on Monday.
Class Focus: Christmas Fair Preparation! For the Christmas Fair and the stalls, we are going to run in Class 5, please could we work together as a team and bring in the items below to make it a success. We will need to run our stalls:
Jam Jar filled with sweets / boxes of chocolate (everyone – for a tombola, bring nearer the time).
10 empty and CLEAN tin cans.
Some small/light branches for reindeer ears.
All this would be hugely appreciated.
Homework: Children have a maths sheet to complete for Tuesday focusing on word problems.
